When the Magi from the east came to Jerusalem, they didn’t have a name for the one they were looking for. “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?” We can only speculate how they ever heard of the promise and recognized the star rising in the night sky. Maybe they had heard the words of Isaiah? They could have asked: “Where is the Wonderful Counselor? The Mighty God? The Everlasting Father? The Prince of Peace?” And which of these names would better fit the boy they later found sitting in his mother’s lap? If had they seen him grow, they would answer: all!
